Overview

This section introduces different certifications available as well as sources for study resources.

Process Improvement Basics

This section covers the core concepts of process improvement as well as identifying other process improvement programs. It explains project charters and project planning. It discusses the key differences of a project charter versus a process improvement charter.

LSS Metric Basics

This section covers several types of metrics that can be used to measure performance. It discusses metrics such as, Sigma, COPQ, DPU, DPMO, Cp/Cpk, Cycle Time and Mean/Mode/Median.

Core Concepts and Terms

This section defines key terminology. It discusses distinctions between methodologies versus tools as well as Waterfall versus Circular Thinking. It shows proper brainstorming techniques using tools such as the Affinity diagram. It also covers six core principles and popular concepts in Lean Six Sigma.

Models Methodologies

This section focuses on five important methodologies. It covers TYPICAL or STANDARD, DMAIC, PDCA, DFSS and KAIZEN models.

Seven Tools of Quality

This section discusses seven different tools of quality. It shows the Fishbone Diagram, also called a Cause and Effect Diagram or Ishikawa Diagram. It examines several different styles of flowcharts and how to effectively use them.

Waste

This section examines the 8 Areas of waste including defects such as overproduction, waiting, non-utilized staff talent, transportation, inventory, motion, and extra processing. It also discusses tools such as TIM WOODS to help identify waste.

This section explains how being cognizant and thinking of your suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs and customers (SIPOC) can make you a stronger Project Manager. SIPOC is to do things like perform stakeholders’ Analysis to comparisons.

Important Graphs and Charts

This section covers several different ways to convery your data and ideas. It explains graphs and charts that can really make a good presentation.

DMAIC Model – Define Phase

This section introduces the Define phase and DMAIC model. The key aspects of the design phase is to make sure you are working on the right problem. It also explains the new tools tools such as House of Quality, QFD, and Kano Analysis.

DMAIC Model – Measure Phase

This section shows how Measure ties into the model. The second phase of DMAIC model is Measure. It also explains what to measure, how to measure, and how to articulate the measurement with tools such as Fishbone, Balanced Scorecard, benchmarking and observation.

DMAIC Model – Analyze Phase

The section shows how Analyze ties into the model. It explains the third phase of DMAIC model is Analyze. It covers the tools such as the 6 hats, critical thinking wheel, critical thinking levels, critical thinking chart and 6 critical questions.

DMAIC Model – Improve Phase

This section shows how to Improve ties into the model. It explains the fourth phase of the DMAIC is Improve.
